What is remiCrystal?

remiCrystal is a fantastic tool for automating, scheduling and delivering Crystal Reports. One of the key goals when we set out to create remiCrystal for Crystal Reports automation and distribution was to create an application that did not re-invent the wheel. We aimed to utilize a lot of the technologies already existing on the Windows platform. By doing so, we have a product that is not only small and lightweight, but also stable and efficient. You can trust remiCrystal with your mission-critical reporting needs and you will not be disappointed.

remiCrystal is engineered from the ground up to be a modern and secure application. We utilize 256-bit encryption to secure all your saved data. By employing Microsoft's .NET Framework, remiCrystal is designed to multi-task using multi-threading. It can execute numerous Crystal Reports simultaneously. Not only that, multiple tasks can also run concurrently.

On the fly property editing

Once an item is added to a remiCrystal Task such as a report or SMTP server configuration, editing its properties can be done simply by editing the values in the property grid. No need for cumbersome dialog windows.

Intelligent  Report Processing

When a remiCrystal Task has multiple Targets, remiCrystal knows to create caches of the report so that your database server is not hit repeatedly. The other side benefit is that processing time also decreases.

remiCrystal enables you to package multiple Crystal Reports into a single Task. This way your users only get a single email with all relevant reports attached. You can even specify any of the included reports to be used as the email's body in either TEXT or HTML.

Task Portability

remiCrystal does not utilize a backend database for data storage therefore there is little chance of all your Tasks getting lost due to data corruption or other database mishaps. Also, your computer's resources will not get bogged running background database server processes. Instead, each remiCrystal Task is its own self-contained entity thus making it extremely portable. Tasks can be shared just like any other Windows file or backed up with your normal file backup routines. You are also able to organize all your remiCrystal Tasks using the familiar Windows Explorer.

Multiple Targets per Task

remiCrystal will deliver your reports to multiple Target types including Email, Printer, Disk/Network, and FTP server.

Built-in & Crystal Report Functions

You can customize the Crystal Report's Record or Group Selection Formula using remiCrystal's drag-and-drop interface. You can also input common functions such as "current date" by simply dragging them into the email body or parameter fields.

Export Formats

remiCrystal will export your reports to numerous formats including Crystal Report, CSV, HTML, MS Excel, MS Excel - Data Only, MS Word, PDF, RTF, Text and XML.

Zip Compression Support

Once remiCrystal has exported your Crystal Reports to your specified format, it can also zip up all the output files before delivering to the target. The zip files can then be password protected.

Multiple Triggers per Task

remiCrystal Tasks can have one or many Triggers. This means that the same Task can be triggered on every Monday morning as well as the last Friday of the month! In the future, we plan to expand this into event-driven and data-driven Triggers

Multiple SMTP Servers

remiCrystal enables you to have multiple SMTP server configurations so that different email Targets can be addressed accordingly. For example, some reports may be sent from noreply@yourcompany.com where as others can be sent bill.bob@yourcompany.com
